Cranfield West Beach in County Down is a picturesque, south-facing beach located at the entrance to Carlingford Lough, offering stunning views of the Mourne Mountains. The beach features a gently sloping, mainly sandy shoreline and is designated as an area of Special Scientific Interest. Facilities include parking, a children's play area, toilets, and showers. Lifeguard supervision is provided daily from 11 am to 6 pm during July and August, and on weekends in September. The beach is also recognised as an inclusive beach, run in partnership with the Mae Murray Foundation, offering free beach equipment loan schemes such as all-terrain wheelchairs and mobility aids, ensuring accessibility for all visitors.
