Tyrella Beach, located in Downpatrick, County Down, is a 2-kilometer stretch of flat, sandy shoreline backed by 25 hectares of mature dunes. This conservation area offers scenic walks and insights into local flora and fauna. The beach has consistently maintained the Blue Flag award since 2011 and the Green Coast Award since 2008, reflecting its high environmental and quality standards. โ
Facilities include off-beach parking, a car-free zone, seasonal lifeguard services, and a nearby tourist information center. During the bathing season (15 June - 15 September), horses are permitted on the beach after 6 pm. โ
Regarding dogs, they are not allowed on the beach during the bathing season between 10 am and 6 pm.
