Randalstown Forest is a fantastic, resource-rich woodland sanctuary located on the edge of Randalstown, hugging the tranquil northern shores of Lough Neagh in County Antrim. Spanning roughly 172 hectares, this mixed conifer and broadleaf forest is uniquely divided between a highly productive working forest and a protected National Nature Reserve. It is famous across Northern Ireland for its dedicated 10-hectare deer enclosure, where a vibrant resident herd of fallow deer can be safely observed from an elevated wooden viewing platform. Offering level paths, unique wildfowl refuge areas along the lough shore, and an on-site owl conservation center, it provides a highly educational, diverse, and deeply peaceful nature escape.
Dogs are warmly welcomed on leads, offering an incredibly sensory, wildlife-rich trek with plenty of flat, easy-going terrain.
