Monkstown Wood, designated as a Local Nature Reserve in 2007, is a 9-hectare (22-acre) broadleaved woodland located between the Doagh Road's industrial area and the Monkstown housing estate in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. The serene setting along the Three Mile Water river offers visitors a peaceful retreat from urban life.
There are four entrances to Monkstown Wood, including a kissing gate and two openings next to the industrial estate and Hurtle Tout Lane. Each of these is linked to Doagh Road, along the siteโs southern edge.
