Stoneyford Reservoir is a serene, sprawling 55-hectare body of water tucked quietly into the scenic rural countryside just north of Lisburn, County Antrim. Though historically constructed to supply drinking water to Belfast, this vast, out-of-service reservoir has evolved into a peaceful, rustic sanctuary favoured by anglers and nature lovers. The site features a straightforward, flat grassy and gravel path that traces the main dam embankment, providing completely unobstructed, wide-open views across the glassy water and surrounding farmland. Characterised by its fresh country breezes and distinct lack of busy tourist infrastructure, Stoneyford provides an open-air location for a quiet waterside stroll.
