Glenbower Wood is an independent, ancient native Irish woodland located directly on the edge of Killeagh village in East Cork. Steeped in over 800 years of documented history, this hidden gem valley sits along the winding River Dissour and is famous for its towering giant sequoia redwoods, historic metal bridges, and an abundance of native flora. A portion of the woodland is proudly community-owned and maintained by local volunteers. For dog owners, the woods are highly accommodating.
Dogs are welcome year-round across the entire forest trail network, offering an exceptional, scent-heavy playground beneath a deep canopy of broadleaf and coniferous trees. Dogs must be kept on a secure lead at all times to protect the nesting birds and local woodland wildlife.
