Brantry Wood is a beautiful, mature woodland escape located near Eglish in South Tyrone, forming part of the larger Caledon Forest collection of drumlin woodlands. Spanning over 40 hectares, this tranquil coniferous and mixed broadleaf forest is a serene alternative to busier regional parks. It features a diverse selection of native trees - including Holly, Hazel, Rowan, and ancient Oak, that create a thick, atmospheric canopy. The absolute highlight of the area is the adjacent Brantry Lough, a peaceful trout-fishing lake that reflects the rolling Tyrone sky. It is a fantastic destination for a quiet morning wander, offering rustic forest tracks, clean country air, and a lovely sense of total seclusion.
Dogs are warmly welcomed on leads, making it a wonderful, low-stress spot for a peaceful, sniff-rich forest walk.
