Carnagh Forest

Carnagh Forest is a peaceful, hidden gem tucked away just outside the market town of Keady in County Armagh, close to the Monaghan border. Managed in partnership with the local council, this lovely mature woodland offers a tranquil escape from busier trail centers. The forest is characterised by a mix of tall conifers and a beautiful nature reserve area thick with native birch, beech, and ash trees. What makes Carnagh truly special is its network of three distinct, serene lakes - Jointy’s Lake, Carnagh Lake, and McCall’s Lake, which act as a haven for local wildfowl, otters, and visiting anglers. With its gentle paths and relaxing lakeside views, it is a superb choice for a quiet, rejuvenating countryside wander.

Dogs are warmly welcomed on leads, making it a fantastic, low-stress spot for pups who prefer a calm sniff-ari around the water.
