A boutique adult-only, pet-friendly motel on the Wild Atlantic Way in Castlefreke, West Cork, with dedicated dog amenities, no breed restrictions, and over 12km of coastal and forest trails on the doorstep.The Little Island Resort is a reimagined 1960s motel sitting steps from Little Island Bay Beach near Clonakilty, on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Adult-only and fully pet-friendly, the resort operates as a boutique stay with a laid-back coastal atmosphere think Palm Springs meets West Cork. At its centre is the Swim Club Deli, an all-day café and bar open to guests and non-residents alike, where dogs are welcome inside and out.
With three beaches, a cliff walk, and the Castlefreke Trail Loop all within walking distance of the property, it is one of the most practical and genuinely well-equipped bases for dog owners on the Cork coast.
No breed or size restrictions, however for your own comfort they recommend a maximum of 2 large dogs or 3 small dogs per room.
Dogs are welcome in all common areas of the property, however:
- Dogs must remain on a lead at all times in all shared indoor and outdoor spaces.
- The green area is shared by all guests and serves as a communal recreation space, therefore dogs are not permitted to run off lead.
- Dogs must remain under control at all times.
- Dogs are not permitted to enter other guests’ bedrooms.
