Cave Hill Country Park

Cave Hill Country Park has been awarded the Green Flag Award every year from 2009 to 2022. This award recognises the best open spaces in the UK.

This park is a scenic natural retreat known for its stunning views, archaeological sites, and diverse wildlife. It features woodlands, grasslands, and ecotrails, making it a great spot for outdoor activities. The park is home to Belfast Castle and offers several waymarked walking trails.

You can enter the park at Antrim Road (Belfast Zoo), Ballysillan Road (Carr's Glen), Innisfayle Park (Belfast Castle), Upper Cavehill Road or Upper Hightown Road. There are three waymarked-trails with various levels of difficulty. The walking trailhead is at the second carpark on the main drive to Belfast Castle from Innisfayle Park.

Opening Time
Our park is open 24 hours. However, some areas, like the path above Devil's Punchbowl, may be temporarily closed for maintenance.
