Best Bark has officially expanded across Ireland, making it easier for dog owners to find dog friendly places, trusted services, events and days out across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
What started as a Northern Ireland dog friendly guide has grown into an island wide platform with more than 900 listings, covering cafés, bars, restaurants, accommodation, parks, walks, beaches, events, pet shops and verified dog services.
The goal is simple: help dog owners spend less time guessing and more time enjoying proper days out with their dogs.
Why We Expanded Across Ireland
Dog owners do not plan trips the same way everyone else does.
Before booking a table, planning a weekend away or choosing where to stop on a road trip, there is usually one big question:
Can my dog come too?
And more importantly, will they actually be welcome?
There is a big difference between a place that technically allows dogs and a place where you can relax, order a coffee, sit comfortably and know your dog is genuinely welcome.
That is the gap Best Bark was built to fix.
For too long, dog owners have had to rely on old blog posts, scattered social media comments, screenshots, group recommendations and guesswork. That might be fine for a quick coffee close to home, but it becomes much harder when you are planning a day trip, a staycation or a visit somewhere new.
Best Bark brings that information into one place, so dog owners can find clearer, more reliable options before they set off.
From Belfast To The Whole Of Ireland
Best Bark began in Northern Ireland, and Belfast will always be a huge part of our story.
In 2025, Best Bark was named Visit Belfast’s official dog friendly partner, helping visitors find trusted dog friendly places across the city.
“We partnered with Best Bark because more and more visitors are planning their trips around their dogs, and they need places they can genuinely trust. Belfast is a great city for dog owners, with cafés, walks and places to stay that really welcome them. Best Bark takes the guesswork out of planning a responsible trip with a dog, and we’re proud to support how they’ve grown,” says Gavin McKenna, Head of Marketing, Digital and Communications at Visit Belfast.
That partnership helped show how useful a proper dog friendly platform can be for a city. Now, we are taking that same approach across Ireland.
What You Can Find On Best Bark
Best Bark now includes more than 900 listings across Ireland, with new places being added regularly.
You can use the site to find:
Dog friendly cafés, bars and restaurants
Dog friendly hotels and accommodation
Parks, walks and beaches
Dog friendly events
Pet shops and dog products
Dog parks and doggy fun pools
Verified groomers, walkers, trainers, sitters and other dog services
Our verified service listings are especially important. Dog owners deserve to know who they are trusting with their dog, so service providers go through a verification process before being listed.
That means Best Bark is not just about where to go for coffee. It is also about helping dog owners find safer, more reliable local services.
Dog Friendly Travel Is Changing How People Plan
Dog friendly is no longer a small extra.
For many owners, it affects where they eat, where they stay, where they visit and which places they recommend afterwards.
Best Bark’s own site data shows that dog owners are actively searching for this information. Over the past six months, Best Bark recorded 116,000 page views, 55,000 unique visits and 18,000 returning visits.
One of our top performing listings received more than 3,000 views over the same period, and in the past 30 days alone generated 317 website clicks and 221 direction clicks.
That tells us something important: dog owners are not just browsing for ideas. They are deciding where to go.
For dog friendly businesses, that matters. If you welcome dogs, people need to be able to find you before they make their plans.
