A Rugged Coastal Adventure with History in Every Step
If your dog loves a bracing sea breeze and a path with plenty of sniffs, Orlock Point is one of the finest coastal walks in County Down. Managed by the National Trust, this 3-mile circular trail wraps around the headland, offering sweeping views across the Irish Sea to the Copeland Islands and, on a clear day, the coast of Scotland.
This isn't just a flat path; itโs a journey through history and nature. From Viking heritage to WWII lookout posts, there is a lot to explore along the rocky outcrops and hidden shingle coves.
Top Tip: Time your walk for sunset. The light hitting the Copeland Islands is spectacular, and it's a much quieter time for a peaceful trek with your pup.
