Action Cancer’s Breast Foot Forward Walk returns to Belfast on Friday 5 June 2026, and this year, dogs are welcome to join their owners on the route.
Best Bark is proud to be supporting the dog friendly side of the evening, helping make the event a little easier for those bringing their pups along.
The walk will start and finish at Belfast City Hall, with participants able to choose between a 5km or 10km route through Belfast City Centre. The event begins at 7pm, with the build up starting earlier in the evening, including a warm up, music and event activity before everyone sets off.
Breast Foot Forward is one of Action Cancer’s key fundraising events, raising money for its breast screening and cancer support services across Northern Ireland. It brings together friends, families, work teams, community groups and supporters, all walking in pink for a cause that touches so many lives.

Bringing your dog along
Dogs are part of the family for so many people, so it feels lovely that they can be included in an evening like this.
Best Bark will be helping Action Cancer look after the dog friendly details on the night. We’ll be setting up a self serve dog water station at the halfway point, with disposable bowls available for dogs who need a drink along the route.
Barkley, the Best Bark mascot, will also be there on the evening for photos with dogs and their owners. He may even make an appearance during the warm up!
And of course he’ll be there to cheer you on along the route!

What to know before you go
The Breast Foot Forward Walk takes place on Friday 5 June 2026 at Belfast City Hall.
Registration is £15 per adult and £7 per child. Each participant receives an Action Cancer event t shirt, a bag filled with goodies, a medal for completing the walk and fundraising support from Action Cancer.
Dogs are welcome, but owners should make sure their dog is comfortable around crowds, noise and other dogs. If your dog finds busy events stressful, it may be kinder to leave them at home and take part without them.
If you are bringing your dog, remember to pack:
- A lead
- Poo bags
- A familiar treat or two
- Anything your dog may need if they get tired or unsettled
- A little patience, especially around the busier start area
Best Bark will be there to help with water along the route, but owners are still responsible for their own dogs throughout the evening.
Why this event matters
Cancer affects families across Northern Ireland every day. Events like Breast Foot Forward give people a way to come together, remember loved ones, support those going through treatment and raise money for services that can make a real difference.
Action Cancer says each breast screening appointment costs the charity £120 to provide, and participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship to help fund this service.
The evening is also a chance to bring people together in a way that feels hopeful, active and community led. And for dog owners, being able to bring your dog along can make the experience feel even more personal.
