Beechgrove Doggy Fun Park: Celebration Weekend raises over £2k for NI rescues

On International Dog Day, we had the pleasure of joining fellow dog lovers at Beechgrove Doggy Fun Park for their annual Doggy Celebration Weekend. The event raised over £2,000 in support of Northern Ireland’s rescue centres, Animal Connexions and Tyrone Husky Rescue an incredible achievement for such an important cause.

Best Bark was there as vendors, handing out freebies, running giveaways and meeting so many of you from our community. The atmosphere was buzzing with wagging tails, happy faces, and a packed line-up of activities.

One of the highlights of the day was the Fun Dog Show. We not only got to take part but also had the honour of sponsoring and judging the “Best Rescue” category. Choosing winners was no easy task, every dog had such a special story. In the end, our top spots went to:

  • Cher – the fluffy diva who owned the runway.

  • Harry Haribo – with a personality as sweet as his name.

  • Keith the Hugging Sheepdog – who may or may not have bribed the judges with a cuddle to seal his win.

This is me in my element getting to meet all the rescues!

It was a day filled with laughter, community spirit, and a whole lot of love for dogs. We’re so proud to have been part of such a fantastic event and to help raise vital funds for rescue centres across Northern Ireland.

Here’s to many more celebrations where dogs take centre stage, exactly as they should!
