Best Bark was born out of our own frustration as dog parents.
Like many, we wanted to bring Vito along on our adventures whether it was grabbing a coffee, heading off for the weekend, or meeting friends for dinner. But finding truly dog-friendly places was harder than it should’ve been. Outdated blogs, vague Instagram captions, and websites left us guessing:
- Are dogs really welcome inside, or just tolerated on a cold patio?
- Will staff be friendly, or will we feel like a nuisance?
And it wasn’t just cafés or hotels. Booking a groomer, walker, or trainer was equally tricky in an unregulated industry where anyone could set up shop. With so many mixed messages, how could dog parents know who to trust?
So we built what we wished existed: Best Bark – Northern Ireland’s first dedicated dog-friendly directory and verified dog services hub.
