Best Bark vets relevant dog service providers before awarding verified status. Depending on the service, we ask for up to date insurance, relevant qualifications and information about day to day working practices that directly affect dog welfare.
We want to champion the businesses doing things properly. The ones investing in training, taking welfare seriously, putting safety ahead of convenience and building their business around good care.
We do not list just anybody. Best Bark Verified should mean something to the dog owner seeing it, and we have turned businesses away where they did not meet our standards.

For example, dog walkers may be asked how many dogs they walk at one time. We only accept dog trainers who use reward based, force free training methods. We do not accept trainers who use aversive tools or methods, including shock or e-collars, prong collars, or training based on fear, pain or intimidation.

Does every business need to go through verification? +
No, additional verification only applies to relevant dog service providers who are in charge of a dog's welfare while in their care. The supporting information we ask for depends on the service offered.
