Autumn has properly arrived. The wellies are back out, the evenings are getting darker and pumpkin patches across Ireland are getting ready to open for another Halloween season.
If you’d rather not leave the dog at home, there are a few dog friendly pumpkin patches in Ireland where they can come along for the autumn fun too!
We’ve picked out three Best Bark spots for 2026, with options in Tyrone, Armagh and Meath.
Fulton’s Pumpkin Patch, Strabane
Fulton’s Pumpkin Patch is based on a working farm between Donemana and Artigarvan, near Strabane in County Tyrone.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead throughout your visit, making this a lovely option if you want the dog involved in your annual pumpkin-picking trip.
Alongside the pumpkin patch, Fulton’s 2026 event includes its Spook Trail, themed Spook House, quad rides and small animals. As part of the experience takes place outdoors in a field, wellies and waterproofs are a sensible addition to the car.
Fulton’s is also a dairy farm and makes its own ice cream using milk from the farm, which is sold through its on-site farm shop. So there’s a pretty good post-pumpkin treat waiting for the humans too.
Pumpkins are charged separately from event admission, and free parking is available on site.

Woodview Garden Centre Pumpkin Patch, County Armagh
Woodview Garden Centre is a family-run garden centre and working farm on the Armagh to Portadown road.
Its pumpkin patch is listed on Best Bark as a dog friendly event for autumn, making it another option for dog owners looking for pumpkin picking in Northern Ireland.
Woodview has been part of the local area for more than 50 years, with produce grown on its working farm sold through the garden centre.

Alright Pumpkin, County Meath
Heading further south, Alright Pumpkin in County Meath is another autumn day out where dogs don’t have to miss out.
This family-run farm grows its pumpkins on site and returns for its twelfth year of pumpkin picking in 2026.
There’s plenty to explore once you arrive. You can choose your pumpkin, make your way through the corn maze, visit the farm animals and take a tractor ride. Hot and cold drinks and snacks are also available on site.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. Alright Pumpkin asks owners to be mindful that there are small children and farm animals around, and to consider whether their dog will be comfortable in that environment. Restricted breeds must wear a muzzle.
Booking is required before visiting, with the 2026 pumpkin-picking season taking place on selected weekends throughout October.

Flavour First Farm, Donaghadee
Flavour First Farm in Donaghadee is a great autumn stop if you want to bring your dog along for pumpkin picking. Dogs are welcome on leads in the pumpkin patch, so they can join you while you wander through the field and choose your own homegrown pumpkins.
There’s more to see around the farm too, including Highland cows, pygmy goats and seasonal flowers, plus somewhere to grab a coffee during your visit.
It’s an easy way to spend an autumn day outdoors with your dog, although we’d definitely recommend bringing the wellies and keeping a towel in the car for those muddy paws.

Before Taking Your Dog Pumpkin Picking
A dog friendly pumpkin patch can make a brilliant autumn day out, but a busy farm environment won’t suit every dog.
There may be children, other dogs, farm animals, machinery and unfamiliar noises around. If your dog finds busy environments stressful, don’t feel like they need to come along just because dogs are allowed.
For dogs that are happy in this sort of setting, bring a lead, water and poo bags, and follow the rules set by the individual venue. Giving farm animals and other visitors plenty of space helps keep these events enjoyable and dog friendly.
And pack a towel for the journey home. An Irish pumpkin field in October and clean paws aren’t exactly a reliable combination.
