If youโre looking for a walk that feels like a step into a grand estate, Drum Manor Forest Park is a premier destination for you and your dog. Centrally located in Mid Ulster, this eighteenth-century demesne is famous for its vibrant spring and autumn colours, featuring a unique Japanese garden, a butterfly garden, and an arboretum. It is a fantastic spot for dog owners seeking a spacious environment where the scenery changes with every turn of the path.
You can choose from several waymarked trails that vary in length and intensity. The Old Woodlands Trail is an easy 2-mile loop that takes you under striking beech avenues and through native plantations, eventually skirting the edge of the pond. For something a bit different, the Forest Plots Trail leads you through a variety of exotic tree species, including Monkey Puzzles and Western Red Cedars, established over 60 years ago. All trails start and end at the large visitor car park, making it easy to plan your route.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times throughout the park and around the camping areas. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the childrenโs play area, and owners must clear and bin any dog waste immediately. The park is open daily from 10 am until sunset, and while entry charges apply for vehicles, the facilities, including toilets and picnic areas, provide everything you need for a full day of exploring the Tyrone countryside.
