Drumnaph Woodland Trail

Drumnaph Wood, located near Maghera, is a stunning ancient woodland offering a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and dog walkers alike. Managed by the Woodland Trust, the area is home to a diverse mix of habitats, including mature native trees, newly planted woodlands, open meadows, and wetland areas. The woodland is steeped in history and folklore, with connections to Ireland’s ancient past. Its well-maintained trails provide a perfect setting for a leisurely walk, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of nature while exploring this tranquil and biodiverse landscape.

Please keep your dog in sight, under control and where signposted, on a lead. Keep your dog on a short lead in areas with livestock and ground-nesting birds, particularly during nesting season (usually March-July).

• Three waymarked trails of different lengths (0.7–1.9 miles), suitable for both short strolls and longer walks
